Brisbane regional snapshot

Brisbane is a modern and diverse subtropical city that provides a temperate year-round climate. As Queensland’s capital and Australia’s third largest city, Brisbane offers visitors a warm, friendly and relaxed environment.

Brisbane is renowned for recreation, commerce, fishing and transport activities and is serviced with cultural precincts of theatres, museums and international cuisine. The excellent sporting venues, conference facilities, parklands and river walks create a vibrant city, serviced by a cruise ship terminal.

Superyacht capability

Brisbane hosts a vibrant marine industry sector which is centred around the Brisbane River and surrounding Moreton Bay islands. The allure of Queensland waters has increased the rate of superyacht visits to Brisbane by an average of 42 per cent each year over the last five years. A contributing factor is Dockwise Yacht Transport having its Australian base in Brisbane.

Brisbane has extensive superyacht maintenance, refit, manufacturing and deep-water berthing capability, with maintenance and refit services conducted at two primary facilities. Viking Industries Ltd’s Brisbane facility - Brisbane Marine Industry Park - houses the largest travel lift capacity in the southern hemisphere at 600t and has 20,000m2 of hardstand area.

Rivergate Marina and Shipyard is one of Australia’s largest, cleanest and safest refit complexes, with 75t and 300t travel lifts, 12,000m2 of hardstand area and six refit sheds up to 55m long.

Superyacht Base Brisbane is a hub of marine activity, made up of a group of highly-skilled companies that work collaboratively to service global superyacht visitors while they are in Brisbane.
