Dockwise Yacht Transport

Dockwise Yacht Transport services the Australia-Pacific region twice yearly, with Brisbane the chosen base. Last year more than $300 million-worth of luxury boats cruised into Brisbane aboard the Yacht Express. The 40-boat shipment had come from the Mediterranean and the United States of America.

The arrival of the Yacht Express to Brisbane is evidence of the potential of the Australian and South Pacific markets as well as the strategic nature of Brisbane’s location and ability to service superyachts.

Jason Roberts, of Aurora Global Logistics - the Australian agent for Dockwise Yacht Transport - said the Yacht Express would provide a major boost to the local superyacht industry.

“Some overseas owners ship their boats here so they can cruise in the vast cruising grounds of the Queensland coast,” Mr Roberts said.

Mr Roberts estimated that each boat would inject approximately 10 per cent of its value into the local economy. "That's 10 per cent of the value of the boats spent on fuel, provisioning, repairing and refitting the boats."

The Yacht Express is the world’s only dedicated superyacht carrier and partly submerges so boats can motor on or off the cargo bay, then refloats as divers and on-deck staff position boats and secure them underwater.

Sailing schedules and further information can be found at Aurora Global Logistics.
